Mill Volvo have and always will strive to create innovative safety systems that protect not only the driver and passengers within the car, but those in the car’s surrounding area.  Volvo's baby and child seats are designed and thoroughly tested in their own cars, with several of the Volvo models having two-stage integrated booster cushions for older children.  This ensures that they are always at the correct height for their seatbelts to work effectively.

By 2020, Volvo's aim is that nobody will be seriously injured or killed in a new Volvo, with the long term goal of having cars that should not crash at all.  To achieve this, Volvo use a range of smart technologies in their cars such as safety cages made from ultra-hard boron steel to keep you safe.  They also use breaks that are applied automatically if a collision is likely meaning.  An example of this in action would be if you don't spot a pedestrian in time, or if you're about to collide with the vehicle in front, the breaks are automatically applied.

Date and Venue Announced for the 2014 Show

The North East Baby & Toddler Show are very happy to announce the date and venue for the 2014 Show as the 27th April 2014 at Gateshead International Stadium.  After gathering feedback from the 2013 show the North East Baby & Toddler Show team decided that the change of venue was something that would enhance the event experience for everybody from exhibitors to visitors.

The Gateshead International Stadium not only boasts a large range of free parking spaces available for visitors to take advantage of, but the rooms in which exhibitors can show off their wonderful products and businesses are very wide and spacious.  They offer plenty of room in between the exhibitors for ease of access for pushchairs and maneouvrability around the event for everybody in attendance, making sure you have enough time to stop and check out everybody you want to take a look at. The stadium also has an amazing cafe facility so you can have a rest and a coffee in between visiting all of the amazing exhibitors and checking out all of the amazing activities going on throughout the day.

The date for the event has been thought up with the visitors and exhibitors in mind, well aware that many people go on holidays and take time off during The Easter Holidays, the 2014 show falls nicely in the year a week after the half term holidays end so exhibitors and visitors still have time to get back in the swing of things before heading to the show on Sunday 27th April, 2014.

21st February 2013

We are very happy to announce that Dwaine Pipe will be joining Northumbrian Water at the show as part of their "Love Your Drain" campaign.

The "Love Your Drain" campaign was brought about by Northumbrian Water after discovering that most people are unaware that items they regularly put down the toilet or sink could block up their own pipes as well as the sewers in their neighbourhood. Dwaine Pipe is Northumbrian Water's "Love Your Drain" mascot and he will be at the show to tell us that the only things you should put down the loo are toilet paper, pee and poo.

Some top tips from Dwaine Pipe include the following.

Always throw wipes, nappies, cotton buds, cotton wool, pads, tampons, applicators, dental floss, contact lenses, plasters, bandages, tablets and other bathroom waste into a bin.

Even items that claim to be 'flushable', such as face wipes or cleaning wipes, should always be placed in a bin. These products do not dissolve when they are flushed and will clog up your pipes. Keeping your drains clear is easy if you scrape grease from plates, pans and roasting trays into a bin before washing up. Greasy liquid hardens in your drain pipe as it cools down and can form a blockage.
